\"In<\/a> Money is everything, in the gaming industry as much as elsewhere. And like elsewhere, the main trait of game publishers is greed – with a difference, maybe: the outrageous lack of respect for their clients<\/strong>. Market giants like Electronic Arts<\/em> have no issue earning a lot of money<\/a> with obscenely disastrous launch operations that are an insult<\/a> to the paying players (SimCity), soulless containers like Capcom<\/em> have the guts to complain<\/a> if a trash like Resident Evil 6 sells “just” 4.9 million copies and Nintendo abuses YouTube users<\/a> to make money through advertising. Luckily, there is no lack of instances where respect for players and quality product go hand in hand<\/a> (Bioshock Infinite). But these are the minority, I’m afraid.<\/p>\n

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fourth title in the first-person shooter series with the same name<\/a>, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger<\/strong><\/em> tells the deeds of bounty hunter Silas Greaves<\/a>, the legendary outlaws he brought to justice (or to cold soil) and of his bloody gunfire battles<\/strong> in the wild and dusty American West. A minor project released as digital download at a bargain price, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a feast of duels<\/a> and stray bullets – with Quick-Time Events to “sense” and avoid the shot – enhanced by upgradable skills, three different game modes<\/a> (story, arcade, duel) and everything. Available since May 21 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.<\/p>\n

Gran Turismo 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PlayStation 3 is destined to go out with a bang, and part of that bang will surely be due to Gran Turismo 6<\/strong><\/em>: the new edition of the “ultimate” driving simulator for the Sony console will feature<\/a> a technical side as perfect as ever<\/strong> next to new cars (1,200 in total), new tracks and locations and new, still-to-be-detailed second-screen features for mobile toys. Polyphony Digital<\/em> announced GT6 during the show organized to celebrate the 15 years of the series, its 70 million units sold<\/a> and the 10 million copies of Gran Turismo 5<\/a>. To be released in the fourth quarter of 2013, exclusively on PS3. In the near future on PS4, maybe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hellraid<\/strong><\/p>\n

Besides trampling on the dusty prairies of the West with the Call of Juarez series, Techland<\/em> is also working on Hellraid<\/strong><\/em>: born as a simple additional mode for Dead Island<\/a>, the new game from the Polish developer plans to combine<\/a> the gameplay of a first-person shooter and the action RPG elements of series like Diablo (and The Elder Scrolls too) in a “first-person slasher”. Hellraid would be the spiritual heir to never forgotten titles<\/strong> like Hexen<\/em>, Techland suggests, and to face the demons of hell<\/a> players will need to get a PC (Windows) or a console (PS3, Xbox 360) for an unspecified month of 2013.<\/p>\n

Rain<\/strong><\/p>\n

A boy and a girl, two evanescent silhouettes in the rain<\/strong>, are the protagonists of Rain<\/a>, an action-adventure developed by Sony’s Japanese division for PlayStation 3. A clear tribute to the rarefied atmospheres of Ico<\/a>, Rain will follow the two spectral characters solving puzzles and escaping<\/a> from dogs and other ghost creatures – the only weapon the duo can count on, it seems, is the ability to disappear in dry places. To be released as digital download during the third quarter of 2013. Owning a PS3 helps.<\/p>\n

Thunder Wolves<\/strong><\/p>\n

People familiar with spending Sundays in the arcades on classic games like Choplifter<\/a> and Silkworm<\/a> will feel at home with Thunder Wolves<\/strong><\/em>, arcade shooter developed by Most Wanted<\/a> that brings helicopters, big missiles and destruction<\/a> in 13 missions and four different settings around the world. The player will be able to choose among nine different types of customizable aircrafts<\/strong> upgrading or purchasing weapons and other equipment, advancing in the game by himself or in local co-op mode. Available now as digital download on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.<\/p>\n
