Optimus Prime & Megatron vs. Michael Bay
After all I enjoyed Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, so that I went to see the movie twice in a row. And I feel a bit ashamed about that, considering that if you actually remove the robots and their clashes this movie has practically nothing worth saving. I have never liked Michael Bay that much, but maybe comic author Stefano “TheSparker” Conte has gone too far in making him face even the two main protagonists of Transformers world.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 116 - Guardian of the Iron Wall
After having persuaded Suigetsu to follow him, Sasuke goes on with his recruiting work with Karin, a kunoichi follower of the defunct Orochimaru that hasn’t any particular skill except for being able to “smell” chakra at a distance. At first the girl too seems unwilling to accompany Sasuke in his revenge plan, but the Uchiha has thousand weapons at his disposal to force people to behave as he likes. Naruto: Shippūden episode 115 - Zabuza’s Blade
With Sasuke finally in action, the new Naruto Shippuuden episodes should be at least interesting. Before accomplishing his revenge plan (that later will have a different target than his brother Itachi), the former ninja of the Leaf is searching for allies that can help him and to start he frees this Suigetsu Hozuki, one of those freaks Orochimaru had the habit to collect like figurines and that is able to turn into water. Together the two go recover the sword belonged to Zabuza, the assassin ninja previously killed by Team 7.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 114 - Eye of the Hawk
As widely predictable, the fight between Orochimaru and Sasuke started in the previous episode ends with the victory of the latter, and the old generation of bad guys quits for the new that thanks to the power of Sharingan is even more dangarous and terrifying. The thing I’m wondering is what Kabuto will end up doing now, considering that he stopped being the servant/assistant/partner of Orochimaru and it’s improbable that he will follow Sasuke in his revenge desire against his brother Itachi… For more information: Wikipedia; previous episodes; subs for USA fellow readers.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 113 - The Serpent’s Pupil
After the ending of fillers and the fifth season with the previous episode, Naruto: Shippuuden has returned to tell the story of the anime’s main characters. First of all there is the issue between the ninja-serpent Orochimaru and the vengeful genius with the Sharingan eyes Sasuke. After three years during which they were pupil and master, the two finally confront and Orochimaru shows himself in what should be his true form, disgusting as predictable. I already known how the battle ends, but to see its epilogue in the anime it will be needed to wait at least till the next installment. Naruto: Shippūden episode 112 - A Place to Return To
With Naruto Shippuuden episode 112 the boring story of Yuukimaru, Guren, the Three-Tailed Beast and all the rest finally comes to an end. The boy is save and he is no more a menace for Konoha or a resource for Orochimaru, while the Leaf ninjas return home and prepare for the upcoming adventures. With this last episode, aside from the Yuukimaru story also the fillers and the fifth anime season come to an end, and starting from the next week the show should return to tell the facts as described in the original manga.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 111 - Shattered Promise
From what I can see in the new episode of Naruto Shippuuden released on-line by the BinKanTeam, who makes fillers for this anime is a little bit dull (to be kind): before the booooring story of Guren, Yuukimaru and the Three-Tailed Beast the Tailed Beasts had been depicted as true forces of nature against which even an entire squad of legendary ninjas couldn’t had stood an half chance, contrariwise now this poor amphibious is beaten by everybody barely reacting to it.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 110 - Memory of Guilt
Once again a filler for Naruto Shippuuden in episode 110 of the series, where Naruto and Guren (escaped from the body of the Three-Tailed Beast) come to help Yuukimaru just while a disguised Kabuto tries to exploit the boy’s power to take the monster away from the control of Konoha’s seal squad. It’s a rather ugly episode, I must say, frankly I don’t know how this kind of “fillig” operation is welcomed in Japan but I really can’t hold all this silly and pathetic sentimentalism. Naruto: Shippūden episode 109 - Counterattack of the Curse Mark
Available on-line the new episode of Naruto Shippuuden, which features the continuation of the fight between the ninjas of the Leaf and the Orochimaru’s lackeys to gain control of the Three-Tailed Beast. While the “seal squad” retries to confine the powerful amphibious monster, the Leaf foes resurface to prevent the sensitive operation this time powered by Orochimaru’s forbidden knowledge.
Noi Robot, hopeless steel giants
Waiting to make comics as a full-time job, Stefano “TheSparker” Conte is doing other things and has widely slowed down the time devoted to the creation of his funny comic strips. Nevertheless the author doesn’t forget the fondness that paper characters need and returns, from time to time, to update his series with the usual mocking verve and the will to rag the childhood myths of who grew up in front of the TV screen during the Seventies and the Eighties.
Naruto: Shippūden episode 108 - Guidepost of the Camellia
With today’s post I start proposing the weekly episodes of Naruto: Shippūden, the anime from the second part of the homonymous manga by Masashi Kishimoto. In Japan Naruto is aired every Thursday on TV Tokyo, while it’s freely available with English subtitles on Viz Media site a week later. Of course these are contents unavailable to us Italians, but since Internet is a wonderful place we don’t give a fuck and enjoy the BinKanTeam fansubs on YouTube instead.
Why I hate Twitter
According to the opinion of columnist John C. Dvorak, the instant messaging service known as Twitter would have as much useful practical applications as the user can think about. Maybe it’s because imagination doesn’t always help me but I can’t help but consider Twitter bad, very bad, because I simply think it’s a communication bestiality that induces brain and speech regression in those who waste their time on it.
New opening sequence for The Simpsons in high-definition
Well, actually if you leave out the evidently superior sharpness of the drawings (”as meant to be by the authors”, one says in these occasions) there isn’t much of new after all. Whatever it is, the most yellow America’s family updated its transmissions to the oddities of technology evolution, and on the past Sunday Fox aired the first high-definition episode (in 720p) provided with a complete rewrite of the notorious opening sequence of the show.

While the humorists are discussing about comedy in the age of Barack Obama, the senator elected as an Internet star even before that 44th President of the United States hasn’t took long to become the subject of a good number of quality strips available on the web. Waiting for January 20, the fatal date in which the new commander in chief of the USA declining superpower will move to the White House, Obama is being busy by opening his direct line with the netizens thanks to the weekly address posted on YouTube, writing back (or letting the others do it for him) to an 8 years old teenager letter, coming to the nanometric scale and by obtaining even the Homer Simpson’s endorsement in the most pert American tv show.
700 billions of dollars on Thursday night
The title is somewhat weirdo, I know, but at this time by night I can’t possibly regain that much among the neurons I’ve got still active and so here it is. At bottom the strips are two but the story is always the same, that is the Great Lie of appearance that makes some poor devils to invent any kind of pretext to cover the misery of a poor existence to the others’ eyes, and make others to rag entire nations pulling off money from the taxpayers, with the excuse of having to save the ass of licensed thieves working in the Stock Market.

Sunday afternoon, as usual I’ve eaten too much at dinner and my neurons are hard at carbureting. In TV there are the Olympic Games, Internet throws up to me the usual information overload and I’m in need of some touch of spirit to straighten myself out and to avoid to put my ass on the sofa snoring. In two words I need a comic, but a genial one

Profiting by the summer heat and by a positive astral conjuncture, Stefano “TheSparker” Conte has resumed work on his comics, has granted a deserved vacation to Tired Mask (which doesn’t engage himself too much yet, to say the truth) and has decided to bring forward the still embryonic series of Myth Clots.
Hi-def TV and faith truth…
I’m an atheistic, and I don’t complain. I feel disgust for the TV, and I don’t complain. The problem is that in the Italy of 2008 there are so many watching TV yet, and in my life I’ve never been able to have a decent talk with someone mantled of his own faith in some sort of religion or preternatural deity without the feeling of beein ragged or, worse, treated like a pariah by which feels like an holder of a superior truth.
Tired Mask, not your conventional superhero
For who already knows about him, our “hero” is a consolidated passion which doesn’t need any other consideration. For the others I think it would be proper a short presentation worthy of the fame of the most anticonventional hero ever delivered by a cartoonist mind…
Strip it and it will pass away
After the flattery with vitriol - as someone has correctly observed - that has let me unload the toxins piled up in this 45 days, I think it’s time to begin acting serious. And hence to pass from seriousness to laugh, at least for tonight
