Marco Travaglio - Il più amato dagli italiani (The most beloved by Italians)

December 15, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Taken from the Voglio Scendere blog as usual. Now more than ever, even though I don’t always agree with the opinions he expresses, I completely support Marco Travaglio’s work. Many rejoiced when they saw Silvio Berlusconi’s face covered in blood on YouTube, I cheered much less than I had expected by myself. Then berluscones managed to make me dismiss the desire for human mercy for a wretch considering himself as a god, while then he pays prostitutes to spend a night in company and takes iron sculptures in his face. It’s sad, more than disgusting.

My new Western Digital 1 Terabyte external HD

December 10, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Hardware & Peripherals · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Here is my latest e-commerce purchase: a Western Digital branded external hard disk (USB 2.0 compatible) with 1 Terabyte of nominal storage space. The recent mourning still burns and to be sure this time I’ve spent almost 120 Euros (HD + basic case + shipping costs) to buy a no-frills HD doing the only thing I’m interested to, that is keeping my data (partitions images first of all) and keeping them well, as just one of the few storage brands I trust can do.

Snapshots #2: calm & havoc

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Someone will find it unlikely, but I’m still dealing with the system restore a month after (and waiting to upgrade to Windows 7): to have to download the newest version of any program every time (maybe waiting for hours on eMule) makes you tired hence I’m going forward with the work only within snippets of time and sometimes during weekend. Conversely, after the old crap of the last time, I’m currently falling prey of the almost uncontrollable desire to get and play to whatever taste like “contemporary”.

Marco Travaglio - La mafia non esiste, Berlusconi e Dell’Utri invece si (Mafia does not exist, Berlusconi and Dell’Utri do instead)

November 30, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too I’m starting to be tired of the logical accuracy of Travaglio’s reasoning, because by following his chronicles you end up being afore two possibilities: either you get a machine gun and make a trip to Palazzo Chigi (where the government is) to give Berlusconi some of that “civil war” he babbles about in front of the cameras, or you stay behind the screen by sending out a silent scream of wrath against these pieces of shit. Luckily tomorrow TV will switch to the DTT system in Campania, maybe RAI won’t be accessible anymore and I will return to intensely think about my two obsessions, ie computers and pretty chicks. Because there will be many other occasions in the future to get angry about that Berlusconi mafioso…

Naruto: Shippūden episode 137 - Amaterasu!

November 30, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Comics & Animation · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Just a few words to introduce the episode because I still have to eat the cake, play to Braid and try the just downloaded Serious Sam HD: Sasuke and Itachi go into the heart of battle, unleash their secret weapons and more generally they beat the hell out of each other. Good show, anyway, even though the drawings quality doesn’t impress me that much. And now excuse me while I have better things to do :-P AnimeCrazy.net (alternative hosting); Episodes list on Wikipedia; Naruto on Sir Arthur’s Den.

Marco Travaglio - Il primo Capo di Stato che parla ha fatto l’uovo

November 23, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Maybe I’m not that old to remember of many former Presidents of Republic, but it hardly seems to me to have memories about a useless notary like Giorgio Napolitano. A president which guarantees only the caste of privileged villains he belongs to, ie politicians and mafiosos that, as nasty moths, plague the Parliament by wearing its seats down with their fat asses tired for the too much nothingness they do from the morning till the evening. Napolitano has no televisions and (maybe) doesn’t frequent either whores or transsexuals, but he isn’t so much better than Silvio Berlusconi when it comes to damage the rule of law in Italy.

Naruto: Shippūden episodes 135 & 136 - The Longest Moment & The Light & Dark of the Mangekyo Sharingan

November 22, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Comics & Animation · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too For who hadn’t seen this week’s Naruto Shippuuden episodes yet, here is the usual reminder with streaming clips: the two Uchiha brothers meet and clash once again, while Itachi gives Sasuke a history lesson revealing the bloody secret of their clan. Having no knowledge of the manga apart from some rare glimpse, I dare to hope the series’ plot level will mantain the same rhythm afterward too. And now excuse me while I return to play the freshly installed Street Fighter IV :-D For more information: AnimeCrazy.net (alternative hosting); Episodes list on Wikipedia; Naruto on Sir Arthur’s Den.

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too System restore after the hard disk death is proceeding slowly as expected, currently I am at around 45% (…) but luckily I’m starting to see a less vague profile within the installed applications and everything. What are the basic components to make you feel at home on any Windows system? Anyone has his own, personally I’m fond of (among the others) the three things depicted by the following screenshots.

Marco Travaglio - Berluschino il breve (Berluschino the short)

November 16, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too One thing lackeys of the psycho-pathetic Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi don’t lack surely is imagination: they try everything to take their boss out of troubles, even if they have to overturn an already very fragile judiciary system lacking the essential resources to answer to citizens’ need for justice. It’s obviously easy then to say that the magistrature doesn’t work after having turned it into a ghost with years of absurd laws, people have poor memory and by continuously repeating that in Italy judges and magistrates are the problem more than one comes to believe it.

Even the living dead hate Berlusconi

November 12, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Silvio Berlusconi is a bit like an iron pole stuck up in your ass (just to be chic), you find him everywhere you go as an everlasting memento for the obscenities of a rather uncivilized country like Italy is now. There is no escape even in the imaginary city of Malton, the main setting of the zombie-themed MMORPG Urban Dead. Zroll, the zombie with which I stagger on the streets of the ruined city for some months now, eating the occasional human beings I encounter, discovered this Berlusconi’s bizzarre omnipresence some days ago while he was wandering aimlessly in the Randallbank suburb.

When a hard disk dies…

November 11, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Sir Arthur's Den · 1 Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too It always happens so, you get the blow when you expect it the less, the latest backup dated back to half and a month ago and you end up facing the little comfortable situation in which you have to restart from the beginning with a new hardware, a new operating system with its pros and cons, the software - all the software - to reinstall and so on. Two Fridays ago my laptop’s hard disk decided to leave me for good, in the evening I had turned it off as usual and the following morning I was welcomed by a very little encouraging error message informing me about the the impossibility to load the system registry Hives in memory.

Marco Travaglio - Piano B.: non finire in carcere (Plan B.: don’t go to jail)

November 9, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too How what was a major Western democracy - even with the Italian vices we all know - can die? It ends up that people don’t even notice it because they are too busy at watching tv serials on extended families or formats where one gets the money in exchange for broadcasting one’s own guts. And I’m not talking by hearsay, I’m describing my own family here and the reactions, nay the lack of reactions by my mother and my sister. Mothers and sisters (and perhaps fathers too) of Italy are too busy at doing some other business (my sister has to marry in the upcoming months) to notice what Silvio Berlusconi is doing to justice, the Constitution and to the Italian Republic on the whole.

Marco Travaglio - Una Repubblica fondata sul ricatto (A Republic based on blackmail)

November 7, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too My PC burnt up, but Travaglio’s weekly appointments always deserve the same consideration and spreading. Seeing what happens in Italy in this period, anyway, I tend to think that the usual declination of the world “power”, so often used for sordid and wretched criminals like Silvio Berlusconi, loses a large part of its meaning when you discover that this power is actually corresponding to a huge weakness made up by secret vices, whores, coke and mafioso friends grasping you by your balls.

Naruto: Shippūden episodes 133 & 134 - The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant & Banquet Invitation

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too And finally, after a week of passion due to the premature passing of a computer that was already ancient when I bought it years ago (more info to come…), I return to these places and back to watch Naruto Shippuuden :-D Considering my unlucky adventure I embed two episodes of the anime, the first that honestly you cannot miss for several reasons (read Emanuele’s blog on the matter) and the second useful just to warm the waiting for the “Uchiha vs. Uchiha” clash scheduled next week… For more information: AnimeCrazy.net (alternative hosting); Episodes list on Wikipedia; Naruto on Sir Arthur’s Den.

Marco Travaglio - Sic Trans Gloria Marrazzo

October 26, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too The left-wing is dead, I was writing some days ago, and it’s more and more like the right wing. Actually the only thing that seems to remain alive in it is the brain in the underpants of these embarrassing powerful men with no dignity, which devote themselves to vices and then maybe, instead of denouncing the extortion, they even say “thanks” to Daddy Silvio (Berlusconi) that warns them about the compromising video clip because he can get to everything and everyone. Nowadays Italy would be ridiculous if it wasn’t so tragic.

Naruto: Shippūden episode 132 - In Attendance, the Six Paths of Pain

October 23, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Comics & Animation · 1 Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Definitely interesting this new installment of Naruto Shippuuden :-D The clash between the two “monsters” Pain and master Jiraiya gets serious and both the contenders prove to have abilities that are special to say the least. Before putting him off (spoiler to follow!), the series creator Masashi Kishimoto gave Jiraiya the chance to show off how far his relationship with the toad nature went and it’s a very nice/ugly thing to see all things considered… For more information: AnimeCrazy.net (alternative hosting); Episodes list on Wikipedia; Naruto on Sir Arthur’s Den.

Left wing is dead, and here is why

October 23, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too How one could ever describe a political leader like Massimo D’Alema, one of the main people accountable for the persistence of that villain named Silvio Berlusconi in the Italian political life of the last 15 years, one that doesn’t know the importance of voting in Parliament when there is the chance to knock out the Government and its majority but doesn’t miss any occasion to demonstrate to the media dictator that he is always ready to reach agreements for promoting their mutual political survival?

Marco Travaglio - Il randello catodico-mafioso (The cathodic-mafioso club)

October 19, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Politics & Society · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too No sooner said than done: after the Constitutional Court verdict which rejected the Alfano arbitration and, above all, the one from judge Mesiano on the huge 750 million euros fine for the theft of publishing house Mondadori which harmed De Benedetti, “Daddy” Silvio Berlusconi has gone nuts and incited his servants-dogs-lackeys against his new enemies. Marco Travaglio’s report on Mesiano righteous doing is unobjectionable, the results of the TV persecution against the judge are ridiculous and counterproductive thus far. But there’s plenty of time to get worse…

Naruto: Shippūden episode 131 - Honored Sage Mode!

October 16, 2009 · Filed Under Babel fish, Comics & Animation · Comment

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too Oh, finally after so much useless (and as far as I am concerned slightly exciting) chatting this week Jiraiya and his antagonist start to fight mercilessly and beat each other to death :-P The feature of Naruto that always entertained me the most is the series tendency to large scale clashes (or “legendary”, or whatever), and one of these clashes is exactly the one starting now between the toad-master and his former Rinnegan equipped apprentice. Thumb up and let’s see how this goes on… For more information: AnimeCrazy.net (alternative hosting); Episodes list on Wikipedia; Naruto on Sir Arthur’s Den.
