Giant purple blocks invade the world of Google Maps

Babel fish - A mental interface between Sir Arthur's sensibility and the events from the outer world. And for all the rest, too I think that finding a visual flaw in an extremely popular service like Google Maps doesn’t happen frequently, but detecting something weird in a photographic view a few meters away from where you live must be even more rare. And yet it’s exactly what happened to me a few months ago, and the problem is still there today: the view of a street hereabout is simply bugged, with a giant purple block hiding the sight at one of the roadway sides - all along the street.

Wherever one turns the eye in Street View mode, Via Angelo Domenici is invaded by this odd purple block that turns the view into a surreal scene, halfway between an invasion of Body Snatchers and some sort of mirage due to too much summer sun. Google Maps states that data for the image go back to September 2008: well, I would say that it’s time to update them because these ones have practically gone acid :-P

Google Maps - Street View error

From the few clues I have found on-line, it seems that in some rare occasions Google Maps-Street View show a special fondness for the purple color. Incidentally, the bank located at the beginning of the street possessed by the giant block went through an unusual (and failed) robbery in fairly recent times. So said, I hate purple and hope that Google finally hurry up and solve the issue in Street View now that I have reported it.
